The Central Election Commission (CEC), within the framework of the memorandum signed with the Zurab Zhvania School of Public Administration (LEPL), continues holding informational meetings with young representatives of ethnic minorities. This time, CEC Chairperson Giorgi Kalandarishvili hosted both current participants and graduates of the State Language Learning and Integration Program at the CEC.

During the meeting, young representatives of ethnic minorities received detailed information directly from the CEC Chairperson about elections and their importance, the introduction of technologies in the electoral process, key updates, and the overall preparations for elections. As Giorgi Kalandarishvili emphasized during the discussion, for the election administration, informing young people as well as ensuring equal opportunities for representatives of ethnic minorities is one of the priority directions. According to him, meetings of this type help raise awareness, reduce informational barriers and dependence on disinformation, and motivate young people to get closer to electoral processes and to be more actively engaged in them.

"We held another large-scale informational meeting with young people representing different ethnic minority groups. We had the opportunity to share with them information about the upcoming municipal elections, various electoral issues, and technological innovations. We also discussed such important challenges as disinformation and its negative impact on the electoral process. We hope that meetings of this kind will, on the one hand, help raise awareness and, on the other hand, give young people more motivation to get involved in electoral matters," stated Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

The importance of such meetings was also highlighted by Davit Giorgadze, Director of the Zurab Zhvania School of Public Administration: "Today, about one hundred young people from the Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions had the opportunity to receive information directly from the CEC Chairperson regarding current issues related to the administration of the electoral process. The Zhvania School will continue to carry out and support events of this nature in the future, which is essential for the integration of representatives of ethnic minorities into the unified state space and society."

The meeting, held at the CEC on September 25, was attended by around 100 young people representing ethnic minorities. The event was also attended by the Deputy Director and representatives of the Zurab Zhvania School of Public Administration. From the Central Election Commission, CEC Spokesperson Natia Ioseliani and the Secretary of the Working Group on Ethnic Minority Issues, Ketevan Karanashvili, were present.
