The 2025 State Program for Rural Support Begins!
Under the 2025 State Program for Rural Support, the Municipality of Mestia has been allocated 1,574,000 GEL from the Regional Projects Fund of Georgia.
Starting from February 20, general settlement meetings will be held in the Municipality of Mestia to select projects to be implemented under the Rural Support Program.
Meetings will be held in the 16 administrative units of Mestia Municipality (excluding the town of Mestia), where residents will independently decide which projects will be implemented in their villages with the allocated funds.
Any individual, regardless of their place of residence or citizenship, can submit a project proposal in advance in any acceptable form:

To the mayor's representative in their administrative unit
Via the Unified Electronic System (Citizen Portal)

The deadline for submitting project proposals is February 19 at 18:00.
Each project proposal will be individually reviewed at the general settlement meetings, where an open vote will determine the winning project by a simple majority.
Each registered voter in the settlement has the right to express their support by raising their hand for one or more project proposals.
Citizens' Attention!
A personal identification document is required to participate in the general settlement meetings for registration purposes.
We strongly encourage young people and women in each community to actively participate in these meetings to ensure that the selection of funded projects reflects the broadest community involvement.
Categories of Projects Eligible for Funding under the Rural Support Program
Drinking water systems (including boreholes, water supply systems, headworks, treatment facilities, wells, etc.)
Irrigation systems
Drainage channels
Flood prevention and riverbank protection works
Roads and roadside waiting areas, as well as sidewalks and other road infrastructure
Bridges, culverts, pedestrian crossings
Street lighting
Landscaping of school surroundings
Preschool facilities and related equipment
Ambulance buildings
Cemetery fencing and improvement
Sports infrastructure, playgrounds, and sports equipment
Parks, including children's playgrounds with appropriate equipment, as well as recreational spaces and public restrooms
Mill rehabilitation and related equipment
Mini hydropower plants and their rehabilitation/restoration
Installation of geographic and address signs, as well as directional signs for tourist attractions
Public transportation
